Five years of prototyping
The original Atlantic London concept was prototyped over five years. That process of development and refinement established our approach: thoroughly tested materials, premium components and considered construction, brought together in instruments with presence, response and an individual voice.
01 · The material
We source high-quality brass and thoroughly test it for the resonance, response and tonal character we want from an Atlantic instrument. The aim is a saxophone that feels alive beneath the fingers, with depth and colour in its voice.
That care begins long before the finishing and engraving. The material is the foundation on which everything else is built.
02 · Construction & components
Fully ribbed construction provides a substantial foundation for the keywork. It is part of our commitment to an instrument that feels solid, composed and ready for the demands of regular playing.
A large bell is part of the design across the range: The Duke Alto, The Duke Tenor and The Baron.
The Duke uses premium Pisoni pads. The Baron features elite-grade black MusicMedic pads. Each is selected as part of the complete instrument, with careful fitting and regulation central to a dependable seal and responsive action.
The Duke: Grade-A pearl key touches, carefully shaped and finished for a natural feel at the fingertips.
The Baron: Precision-machined, contoured white-brass metal key touches.
Atlantic London’s vintage-style wire key guards add a distinctive visual detail. Their classic lines are part of the attention given to the character of the complete instrument.
03 · RESO+ & RESO X necks
Our RESO+ and RESO X neck designs are developed around the character of the instrument. They help shape the connection between the player’s breath and the saxophone’s voice.
The Duke Tenor’s RESO+ neck is designed for a free-blowing response with warmth and depth. The Baron’s silver-plated RESO X neck brings its own balance of freedom, substance and tonal colour.
04 · The human touch
Hand engraving is a vital part of Atlantic London’s identity. Our two engravers bring more than 50 years of combined experience to their work, shaping the main outlines and the intricate details by hand.
The Duke takes around seven hours to engrave. It is patient, expressive work that gives each instrument its distinctive visual character.

Before leaving us, every saxophone is carefully inspected, regulated and play-tested by an experienced technician. Materials, construction and components come together in an instrument ready for its next player.
Considered beyond the instrument
Every Atlantic London saxophone is supplied with an Atlantic London Belgravia neck strap, a high-quality protective case and a precision-machined end bung. The same attention to detail carries through to how the instrument is carried, stored and protected.
